Abseiling is a pure vertical adrenaline experience. Members of the team will take the plunge one by one, dangle on a slender line and depending on your chosen location your abseil will be a "walk in the park" down the cliff or the "long drop" trip into oblivion. Experienced instructors will give you lessons and cover your every move ensuring your safety at all times. After all that adrenaline you will be treated to a scrumptious lunch at the lodge.
Min. age is 14 and anybody under the age of 21 years needs a guardian to sign the indemnity form for them. Abseiling is a physical activity that requires a reasonable level of fitness. Not suitable for pregnant women and for people with recent back injuries.
This is a weather dependant activity and it will not take place if the weather is particularly poor.
This experience will last for a couple of hours.
This experience is for 10 participants. Numbers at the site may vary on the day but your instructions will be one-on-one with the qualified abseil guide.
Spectators are welcome to watch you.
Please dress comfortably, avoid skirts and dresses, bring a swimming costume and towel if you are going to abseil down the waterfall, sunblock and sunglasses, a warm sweater or windbreaker. Comfortable shoes or action sandals with a good grip on rocks are essential. All other equipment will be supplied.
All our sites are open throughout the year, weekdays and weekends, generally with 4 weeks minimum notice required for bookings.
Anyone can abseil and you don't need any previous experience. It's only recently that abseiling has become an activity in its own right. Really it is the method climbers use to get off a mountain but its fun and so it has become available as an activity in its own right. It is the way to get some of the best views and, once the butterflies are out of the way - after the first 2 metres- you will get that unmistakeable sense of achievement.
